I like when female protagonists are just allowed to be fully realized and complex characters, and have personalities besides being "good role models" or generically "strong."
The Christopher Reeves movies, although iconic, aren't exactly "good cinema." The female knock-off version is probably even worse, haha! Thanks for sharing, wasn't aware of this movie's existence.
I don’t think there’s such thing as a bad movie because the point of movie is to entertain and either the movie is good because it has actors writing etc. Or the movie is so bad that you get entertained by how bad it I.
Even though I have no Memory of the movie itself, I used to watch the supergirl movie a lot as a kid, that and superman 4 quest for peace. Apparently I like all the bad sequels of movies as a kid lol, though at the time I didn't know any better, I thought they rocked.
I will defend Quest for Peace: unlike other Superman movies, you can actually get little kids to sit for it. It's pretty wholesome also, which is all we should ever want from a Superman movie.
Imagine growing up as a little girl right now. EVERY movie is telling you that you should be automatically good at everything you attempt on the first try. Every movie is telling you that you can punch a man so hard he'll spin around in the air. Imagine how bad you would feel about yourself, how broken you would presume yourself to be, when the real world doesn't work out that way.

Those are the best movies, haha! Just like The Room
The movie cannot be Feminist, as you used The Dark Herald to support one of your points.
Ergo, Supergirl fails as a Feminist Movie.
Quod erat demonstrandum. ;-)
This entire list is just me arbitrarily making stuff up, as feminists do.
[ I know. You get brownie points for reading DH. ]
Haha thanks!
Also thanks for being patient with me :B
dropped you a note on DA
Oh thanks! I will check that out soon!!

Supergirl is just too rapey though 😆
Pretty much.
